August 15th Cocktail & Learn Recap
 We had a fantastic turnout for our Cocktail & Learn session that was held on Weds. 8/15 at Intuition Ale Works. Our VP of Corporate Alliances, Susan Daniels, MBA, PMP, gave an insightful and engaging overview of the certification offerings available from PMI and how they can align with and augment your career goals.
There was also a lot of great networking, conversation, delicious apps provided by Black Sheep and of course, some awesome beer from Intuition! Special thanks to our PMI-NEFL member and volunteer, Joanna Jackoby, for her hard work in putting together this great event!

 Managing Complex Construction Projects
We want to thank John Briesemeister for providing expert advice and insight related to construction project management. John's experience comes from having successfully worked in the field on various large, complex construction projects for the past thirty years. In 2016, John was awarded the Donald S. Barrie Award in Construction Management at the PMI® Global Congress 2016—North America in San Diego, California, from the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF) for a paper he wrote and submitted, which was entitled, “Construction Execution Plan Alignment for Successful Construction Projects.”
Mr. Briesemeister shared strategies from his book, as well as fascinating anectodes and stories from his 30+ years managing construction projects around the globe. And in keeping with the construction theme, hardhats were worn (pictured at right).

Still others will tell you that a great product must provide value to the customer, even exceeding expectations, and somehow change the user’s life for the better.
