Monthly Chapter Dinner Meeting ChangesFor 2019, we have changed the venue of our monthly Chapter Dinner meetings from the Embassy Suites to the Aloft Hotel in Tapestry Park off of Southside Blvd. The Aloft is a chic venue and we hope that you will be pleased with the change! Please note a change in the cut-off days for the Early Bird discount and for dinner registration. Unless otherwise specified, online registration for dinner closes the Tuesday prior to the event to meet head count requirements with our venue. "Speaker Only" registration is available online until the day of the event. Walk-ups may register on the day of the event but may not guaranteed. January Meeting Recap
Our first Chapter Dinner meeting of 2019 was well attended and featured a presentation from John Daly, PMP, PgMP, PfMP. John is a PMO Director at Cisco and has also been a featured speaker at PMI Global Conference. His topic "Accelerated Change: Project Management in 2025 and How to Be Prepared" was insightful, thought-provoking and eye-opening for anyone in project leadership. February Meeting Recap
SkillFest RecapOn January 29th, PMI-NEFL hosted our first SkillFest networking & recruiting session at Dave & Buster's. At SkillFest, members were able to meet informally with recruiters and to network with other members. We would like to thank our event sponsors, Alluvion, The Goal and Beeline. The PMI North Florida Chapter is seeking long-term partners to sponsor events, including Dinner Meetings, Cocktail & Learn Seminars and the 2019 Quarterly SkillFest recruiting sessions. Does your company want brand exposure in a growing market and access to a professional and diverse membership? We would like to hear from you. We are also looking for volunteers in a Director role to act as an Account Manager for each partner. Responsibilities will be to engage at periodic intervals and ensure the value we provide exceeds their expectations. Our member spotlight is Grace Willis, MBA, SPC4.5, SA, CSM, ICP, CSSGB, PMP. As you see, she has several certifications including obtaining her Sigma Green Belt certification. Ms. Willis is an agile coach with a leading technology consulting firm and has expertise in Change Management. She has written an article (see link below) “FrAgile Agile: Agile Transformations Require Change Management” that was published on ProjectManagement.com. The February Chapter Dinner meeting was also well attended and featured a presentation from Julie McLean titled “Communication Isn’t Optional”. Julie’s presentation was very engaging, and some attendees were able to showcase their acting skills!
