These events will be an informal, one (1) PDU event in a bar-style location with a guest speaker, a sponsor, and a limit of approximately 20 people. The purpose is to provide a PDU from the PMI Talent Triangle, updates on the local job market, and the camaraderie of fellow professionals in locations that support members who might not be able to attend the monthly dinner meetings. This was truly an amazing and humbling experience. Some tidbits:
Today our chapter along with another group from the Navy had a “Potato Pallooza’ day. We bagged sweet potatoes for families of 4 from huge bins. When that bin was emptied they brought more. Nothing is wasted. Any potatoes that cannot be bagged are placed in another bin for pigs to eat. In total we all bagged almost 12,000 pounds of potatoes. The exact total was 11.773 pounds that will feed about 2,810 families. Congratulations to everyone that helped today. Volunteers are always welcomed Tuesday-Sunday. Below is the link: https://www.feedingnefl.org/volunteer/ Chapter SpotlightThe Board of Directors had their mid-year planning session and we are excited to learn and hear more about what is in store for the future of the chapter and beyond. The board meets twice a year, with the January meeting laying out the plan for the upcoming year and the summer as a mid-year check in to see how things are progressing. Larry Flowers hosted the mid-year meeting. Looks like everyone had a great time! This is what they are working on:
