April 2018 Dinner Meeting: "Leveraging Lean Thinking to Improve and Transform Project Management ”

Lean Thinking has enabled companies in a wide range of industries around the world to achieve tremendous success in transforming their enterprises. 

The first half of the presentation will focus on background on Lean Thinking. The presenter will discuss the origin, definition, and key principles of Lean Thinking. Additionally, he will outline Lean Thinking’s philosophy, leadership style, management systems, methodologies, tools, and benefits. Throughout the presentation, he will illustrate the key points through stories and real-life examples.

The second half of the presentation will focus on how Lean Thinking can be successfully applied to project management. The presenter will share examples from his first-hand experience in implementing Lean Project Management.

All head shots will be uploaded to a drop-box location approximately 1-week after the sitting.

About the Speaker

Jerry Bussell has been formerly recognized as one of the top lean practitioners in North America. He is the author of the award winning book ' Anatomy of a Lean Leader ', President of Bussell Lean Associates and retired Vice President of Operational Excellence at Medtronic Surgical Technologies.

Jerry also currently serves as the Executive Director of the Jacksonville Lean Consortium.

 He was the recipient of Medtronic's top leadership award. Jerry was named as a member of the Shingo Academy for his contributions to operational excellence. In 2017 has was inducted into the Association of Manufacturing Excellence exclusive Hall of Fame.

 Jerry received a BA from St John Fisher College and an MBA from Baylor University.
